Tales of The Fencesitter

The madness has passed.

After more than a week or so of weird auto posts, I am reverting to my usual fare.  I’ve polished both Hustle and Boston Legal and I have my wits under control now.  I should be able to sleep regularly as well.  Certain compulsions tend to take us away from the ordinary daily stuff we do without care for the consequences.  My compulsions have wrecked enough havoc in my usually unbelievably frenetic schedule that I’m just glad to be done with them.  Until the next season, that is.

What makes Boston Legal so addictive is that it combines irreverence with idealism.  Something that strikes a really huge chord in me.  I do believe in doing serious things the fun way.  Plus. there’s the friendship that’s on display at the end of every episode.  I can only dream of having such a relationship.

Allan Shore (James Spader) delivers an impassioned closing statement everytime he has a case and although I know that everything is scripted, I still can’t help but be swept away in his passion and the facts & figures that he seems to have in his fingertips.  Who hasn’t dreamed of being that eloquent and convincing in front of an audience?

Hustle on the other hand appeals to my sense of risk, and the ingenuity of their con jobs amazes me so much that I’d rather work like a zombie for lack of sleep than leave the Hustle DVD half-unwatched.

So the madness has ended, let the madness begin.
