It’s no secret really, not how those folks market it to be. Just plain law of attraction blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda. I still can’t believe I shelled out 50 bucks for that DVD. I think it was more out of boredom. The SO left me by my lonesome at the at 168 mall one weekend so she can shop in peace without the unnecessary hassle of a grumpy guy breathing down her neck egging her to wrap things up already. The 168 mall offers the same wares that are being sold at the original divisoria mall although at a slightly higher price but without the smell of horse shit.
What’s a guy to do in a knock-off mall? Why, check-out knock-off items of course! After checking out some imitation football jerseys that wouldn’t stand close scrutiny, I decided to go hunting for action figures. I’ve always envied my friends who have their own toy collections from when they were kids. My folks can only afford to give me jolens and lastikos so I thought I would compensate.
However, unlike my Peter Pan friends who would shell out obscene amounts of money for some plastic things I go for knock-offs instead. Goes to show a hopeless cheapo I am. But then again I’m not gonna wear or eat those things so why shell out enough moolah to feed a slew of homeless children for a month?
I got this One Piece set for probably a tenth of what they will cost in legit stores.

I wonder what happened to this anime? I bought all the pirated DVDs I could lay my hands on but they were all unfinished. I don’t know if Monkey D Luffy did get his hands on the One Piece treasure. Oh well.
Some Chit Chat
I finished Phil Pullman’s His Dark Materials Trilogy. If your faith is tethering on the brink, this will send you over the edge. His genius couldn’t be doubted though. I like the idea of joining nature when I die. I’m not very thrilled about the concept of heaven and hell so I don’t know. My catholic upbringing refuses to be swayed by the things he proposed.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is too highschool I think. Looongg episodes of love dramas , not enough characters and I’m sorry– not enough imagination. But the lead actress in the Twilight movie that will be hitting theaters everywhere – Kirsten Stewart (of the Panic Room fame, as Jodie Foster’s daughter) is turning out to be one fine babe. She looked absolutely gorgeous in Into The Wild (lead role played by Emile Hirsch of Speed Racer).
Into The Wild, directed by Sean Penn, is a movie I can recommend. Emile Hirsch is one hell of an actor. I first saw him in the film Lords of Dogtown and he was rocking by then. He has the charisma to draw you into the role he’s playing which made the movie about a modern day Henry Thoreau very appealing.
